Photographs taken at events
How and when we photograph you
We operate staffed photo points at live events. We only take photographs of people who come to our photo point and stand in front of the camera. We do not take photographs of people covertly, from a distance, or without them knowing at the time.
Sometimes a photograph is included in your ticket price. Sometimes it is an optional product you can choose to buy. Either way, you are photographed only at our photo point, facing the camera.
We display notices at our photo points and at event venues telling you that photographs are being taken and how to tell us if you do not want to be photographed. Those notices name us, say how long we keep images, and give you an email address to contact us.
What we do not do
-
We do not use facial recognition or facial matching technology
-
We do not create biometric records of you
-
We do not identify you automatically from your appearance
-
We do not sell or license your image to anyone else
-
We do not give your photograph to the event organiser or venue for their own use
-
We do not use your image in advertising or promotion unless you have separately given us specific permission — and we never do this with images of children
-
We do not send your personal data outside the United Kingdom
Our lawful basis
We rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR.
Our legitimate interest is operating our business of producing souvenir photographs and imaging products for guests at live events. We have carried out a formal assessment and concluded that our interest is not outweighed by your rights, because:
-
Photography is expected at events of this kind
-
We only photograph people who come to our photo point and face the camera
-
We tell you in advance, by signage at the venue and photo point
-
We keep images for a short, fixed period
-
You can object at any time, and we will delete the image without question
You can ask us for a copy of that assessment.
Your right to object — how to stop us
You have the right to object to us photographing you, and to ask us to delete a photograph of you. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.
You can do this by:
-
Telling any member of our photo point staff, at the time or at any point during the event
-
Emailing team@prestigeeventsphoto.co.uk
-
Writing to us at the address above
We will delete the image within 5 working days and confirm when we have done so.
Children
We photograph a child only when a parent or guardian is with them at the photo point. We do not photograph unaccompanied children.
We never use images of children for advertising, promotion, our website, or portfolio purposes, and we do not ask for permission to do so.
We also keep them for less time. If a photograph of a child is not purchased, we delete it after 14 days rather than 90.
A parent or guardian can object or ask us to delete an image of their child using any of the routes above.
